The new Bayern's Face. Tuchel faces Pep in a Champions League showdown.

Updated: Jul 28, 2023

Bayern Munich

In what seemed to be a dramatic day for football Bayern Munich has now parted ways with their first-team coach Julian Nagelsmann. A coach who has managed to beat teams like Inter-Milan, Barcelona, and PSG in the Champions League and sits just 1 point shy of Borussia Dortmund in the current Bundesliga title race.

However, as a surprise, it may be Tuchel will also be facing his former club Borussia Dortmund as he takes his first day in charge of this Bayern Munich squad.

It came as a shock as such a move was unexpected. Top football Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano broke the big news as rumours started circulating about a potential sacking in Bayern management.

Bayern was also swift to hire Thomas Tuchel as a replacement. Thomas Tuchel has been fired in a similar fashion earlier this season by the Chelsea board.

Bayern was starting to lose confidence since the start of the season as the performance from Bayern players was below par in many Bundesliga games this season.

A recent defeat against Bayern Leverkusen was one of the examples of it, Even after leading a match Bayern managed to slip up and lose all three points.

There was a possible chance of a sack if Julian failed to bring in any silverware this season but at least silverware looks visibly possible this year. Bayern is strong in the Champions League and looks to cement that 1st position in the League.

As Tuchel has come in as the manager for the Munich his old foe might be looking for an opportunity to take advantage of the newly appointed manager syndrome, As Tuchel faces Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the Champions League Quater-Finals.

Pep Guardiola doesn't seem to have as much of a good record against the German as the German has against the Spaniard. Pep lost a Champions League final to Tuchel's Chelsea back in 2021.
