After a loss and a draw which everyone expected Chelsea to win, the blues have finally won their first UCL group-stage game against AC Milan who is considered a re-emerging force on the map of world football under manager Stefano Pioli since they lost their glory at the beginning of the past decade. Under Stefano, AC Milan succeeded to win the Seria A title the last season, hence it wasn't an easy task for newly appointed Chelsea boss Graham Potter to lead his side to a victory by 3-0 margin.
Potter's team selection and tactics were spots on as Chelsea was very quick on the transition, played many successful passes in the opposition's half, and was testing the AC Milan goalkeeper. On such a glorious night Wesly Fofana scored his first Chelsea goal from a corner. Aubameyang scored the second goal from a Reece James assist in the form of a right-footed low cross from the right-hand side outside the 18-yard box. As James was tearing down through the right-hand flank in the second half, he managed to find a fruitful outcome of his efforts by scoring a goal from the right edge of the six-yard box from a Raheem Sterlin assist.
Quick transition play by Chelsea from missed passes or when Milan was getting disposed by Chelsea defense, successful movement in the opposition's half allowing Chelsea men to find passing spaces and the right intensity as well as the mentality to attack, played crucial role in Chelsea's victory against AC Milan in UCL group-stage match.
