Premier League has referred Everton to an Independent Commission for alleged rules of Leagues profitability and sustainability rules. The Independent Chair of Premier Leagues Judicial Panel will appoint the commission members. The proceedings would be confidential and heard in private, but the final verdict would be published on the Premier League Website.
According to reports, the breach is said to have occurred in the 2021-2022 season when the club finished in the 16th position. Everton recorded losses of 371.8 million over the past 3 years, but the league allows clubs to lose a maximum of 105 million over 3 years period. Last year Burnley and Leeds United had written to the Premier League to question the same.
Clubs that breach Premier Leagues' profitability and sustainability rules can face a deduction in points according to news sources.
