Earling Haaland's quick hattrick gave Manchester City a comfortable lead against RB Leipzig in the second leg of UCL's last 16 clash. The 22-year forward broke many records yesterday as he became the youngest player to reach 30 goals in the competition. He also became the fastest player to reach the 31-goal mark in this competition having played 25 matches beating Ruud Van Nistelrooy's record- within 30 games. In the second half, he scored two more goals making it 5 in the match. Haaland is now the top goal scorer for Manchester City in one season.
After thrashing Leipzig Pep-Guardiola would be a happy man looking at the bigger picture that his boy is doing the job for which he was brought on. City's failure for winning the UCL has often been ascertained to a deficit of a target man or poacher who can score instinctively, at the crucial moments at the big matches. This leaves football fans with one question; whether Manchester City can finally lift the UCL trophy that Guardiola has been chasing for so long after leaving Barcelona.
